PLAICraft just hit 5,000 hours of gameplay! Holy cow! This puts us at the halfway mark for our goal of 10,000 hours of Minecraft gameplay data.
We cannot thank the players enough. I mean, we literally can’t. Today, the vast majority of players are people we have never met. When we started, we had to beg our friends, family, classmates and colleagues to play Minecraft while talking into their microphone. But slowly, as many great things do, we started to pick up speed. December was definitely a breakthrough month for us – almost 10.5k game sessions and 3.5k unique players joined. During our busiest days, hundreds of players contributed to our research project.
You might be asking, so what next? When we hit 10,000 hours, will PLAICraft disappear? On the contrary. 10,000 hours is just the beginning.
We plan to rollout the next phases of our project publicly on our server, and what we are planning has never been seen in Minecraft before. We hope you’ll stick around.
Onward gamers! More Minecraft adventures await in the name of science!
